The scale is contested
Commercial calculators disagree on A+ (4.0, 4.3, or 4.33) and on whether a failing AP course is worth 0.0 or 1.0 grade points. This page defaults to A+ at 4.0 and F at 0.0 in every course type, then lets you switch the A+ preset and the F-in-weighted-course checkbox. It does not claim to be your school's calculator. Rounding
Arithmetic stays at full precision. Display uses two decimal places, half away from zero. When the truncated value differs, both are shown. A cumulative GPA is prior GPA times prior credits plus new quality points, all divided by total credits - not the average of semester GPAs unless every term carried identical credits.
This is a model of your GPA, not the one on your transcript
The page already tells you it is not your school's calculator. What is worth knowing is which rules do the damage, because they are not the obvious ones. Whether a repeated course replaces the original grade or averages with it can move a cumulative average by a wide margin. So can whether plus and minus grades exist at all, and which courses are excluded from the weighted calculation. This page takes the credits you type; it can't tell you whether they're the credits your transcript assigns. Use it to model what a change would do, not to predict what'll be printed.
Questions
Weighted against unweighted?
Unweighted ignores course-type bumps. Weighted applies the Honors and AP bumps you set. Both are computed from the same rows.
Do P, NP, I, W, and AU count?
No. Those letters are excluded from both the numerator and the denominator. Institutions still differ on whether a W affects standing.
College GPA?
College and university GPAs are institution-specific. Check your registrar. This page targets the high-school and weighted segment where no national standard owns the answer.
Which grade actually moves the number?
The one attached to the most credit. A one-credit elective and a four-credit course are not equal levers, and a term spent lifting the elective can move a cumulative GPA by almost nothing. If you are deciding where to spend effort, sort by credit weight first.
